A former boxing champion has been shot dead as he got off a bus in Atlanta.
O'Neil Bell was getting out of the vehicle in the city when he and another person
were shot on Wednesday morning, police said.
The two suspects then robbed the pair.
The 40-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene in southwest Atlanta.
The second victim, who has not been identified, was shot in the hip and taken to hospital.
Police in the city said the investigation is ongoing.Local television station WSB-TV reported that police are looking for four men wanted in connection with the killing.
Police said the men are suspected of being behind two vehicle thefts and the robberies of several people, according to WSB-TV.
Mr Bell's mother Norma was quoted by the station as saying: "I just hope they catch the people who did this to him.
"He didn't deserve to die like that."
Bell held four different titles during his 13-year boxing career, including the WBA, WBC and IBF cruiserweight titles.
In his last bout in 2011, Bell beat Rico Cason with a technical knockout in the first round.
He finished his career with a 27-4-1 record.
